In these places, you can know the culture and cuisine. They are an excellent opportunity to take home a souvenir of the Balearic island.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Every day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m<\/strong>, there are some markets, the Sunday market is the most important in Pollen\u00e7a. This market is visited by thousands of people from all over the island.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most important and prominent markets of the island are <strong>Santa Mar\u00eda\u2018s market (on Sundays), Sineu\u2019s market (on Wednesdays), and Inca\u2019s market (on Thursdays).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In these markets, there are the most characteristic gastronomic products of the island, such as the typical Mallorcan \u201csobrasada\u201d or the \u201cbutifarr\u00f3n\u201d (blood sausage). But there also markets, which offer handmade products such as bags, handmade necklaces or clothing.<\/p>\n<p>In Palma de Mallorca, in the capital, is where<strong> there are most island markets.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><span style=\"color: #00afe1;\">\u201cMercadillos\u201d or little Markets in Palma de Mallorca<\/span><b><\/b><\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Plaza Mayor: <\/b>Every Monday and Friday you can find this market in one of the most central and busy places in Palma de Mallorca: la Plaza Mayor. In this place, there are all type of artisans where you can buy at the best price any product that you are looking for. This market is open all year except for January and February.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Can Pastilla: <\/b>It opens on Tuesday and Thursday, and it is furthest from the city. It\u2019s smaller than the other 20 market stalls. It is installed in the Plaza Pio IX and you can find food, clothes, and different handmade products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Pere Garau<\/b>: It is installed three days per week: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. If you go on weekends, it would be crowded, so we recommend you if you are on a vacation, you must go during the week. It has approx. 200 market stalls, so it won\u2019t be difficult if you don\u2019t find what you are looking for.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Santa Catalina:<\/b> It opens on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and it is located in Palma de Mallorca. It is located in one of the most touristic areas (near the seafront, the port, and the Parque de la Feixina). It has like 12 market stalls, so it is easy to see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>S\u2019Arenal<\/b>: El Arenal is one of the most tourist areas of the capital throughout the year. Therefore, there are many people that come to this market in S\u2019Arenal on Wednesdays. Although it has 12 market stalls, you will find all kinds of items that you can take home as a souvenir or try some Mallorcan products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Coll d\u2019en Rabassa: <\/b>It is only 5 kilometers away from the center of the city of Palma and it is installed on Wednesdays in the Plaza de la Iglesia. It has 40 market stalls that have a wide variety of products. This market is not big or crowded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>La Vileta:<\/b> This is another market located to the north of Palma de Mallorca that is installed on Fridays. It is installed in the Plaza Tarent of the Son Serra-La Vileta area and you can find like 20 market stalls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Son Ferriol:<\/b> You can find more markets in Palma de Mallorca on Saturdays, and the most popular market is Son Ferriol market. It is located in the Plaza Prevere Bartomeu, which is in the Son Ferriol area. It is one of the biggest markets, and it has approx. 85 market stalls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Baratillo: \u00a0<\/b>this is one of the biggest markets, and it has 245 market stalls. There are markets every day for all places on the island. You can go to one of these markets any day of the week in one municipality.<\/p>\n<h2>All \u201cmercadillos\u201d of the island during the 7 seven days of the week<\/h2>\n<p><b>Monday:<\/b> Calvi\u00e0, Lloret de Vistalegre, Manacor, Caimari, Montu\u00efri.<\/p>\n<p><b>Tuesday:<\/b> Alc\u00fadia, Art\u00e0, Campanet, Porreres, Santa Margalida.<\/p>\n<p><b>Wednesday:<\/b> Andratx, Capdepera, Felanitx, Petra, Port de Pollen\u00e7a, Santany\u00ed, Selva, Sencelles, Sineu, Vilafranca de Bonany and Col\u00f2nia de Sant Jordi (at noon).<\/p>\n<p><b>Thursday:<\/b> Ariany, Campos, S\u00b4Arenal, Consell, Inca, P\u00f2rtol, Sant Lloren\u00e7 de Cardassar, Ses Salines, Sant Joan, Lloseta and Dei\u00e0.<\/p>\n<p><b>Friday:<\/b> Alar\u00f3, Algaida, Binissalem, Can Picafort, Llucmajor, Maria de la Salut, Pont d\u00b4Inca, Son Servera and Sa Cabaneta.<\/p>\n<p><b>Saturday:<\/b> B\u00fager, Bunyola, Cala Rajada, Campos, Costitx, Esporles (firs Saturday of every month), Palma de Mallorca, Santany\u00ed, S\u00f3ller, Santa Eug\u00e8nia and Santa Margalida.<\/p>\n<p><b>Sunday:<\/b> Alc\u00fadia, Consell (Flohmarkt), Felanitx, Llucmajor, Muro, Pollen\u00e7a , Porto Cristo, Santa Maria del Cam\u00ed, Valldemossa and Sa Pobla.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a long list of what we can do in the \u201cmercadillos\u201d of the island. Although there are different \u201cmercadillos\u201d celebrated through the whole year in the island, in this time of the year is where the island receives more visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Depending on the date we can find open the gates of Port d\u2019Alc\u00fadia during the months of June to September. And before that, in may it can be enjoyed of the \u201cmercadillos\u201d of Calvia such as the ones in Peguera, Santa Ponca and the \u201cMercado artisanal de Palmanova y Magaluf\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The sales of \u201cmercadillos\u201d arise in the summer. They open its gates, the market of \u201cla Palomera\u201d on august, the market of \u201cses Covetes\u201d in campos and the market of \u201cna Alcadesa\u201d Arta.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All this \u201cmercadillos\u201d open starting 8:00 am<\/strong>, even though in Mallorca there is also nocturnal \u201cmercadillos\u201d in Capdepera, Consell and Felanitx.<\/p>\n<p>Through this \u201cmercadillos\u201d you can get to know the culture that is in the island.
